山西省隰县位于吕梁山区的南端,行政上属临汾专区管辖,隰县方言有入声,属晋语,但又兼有晋南地区方言(河东方言)的特色,如古全浊声母今读塞音、塞擦音不论平仄,都读送气音。隰县方言语音演变的重要特点是:很多古鼻音韵尾字今韵母失落鼻音韵尾。这一点也和许多晋语方言相同。本文讨论的隰县方言古成、山、宕三摄舒声韵尾[-i]和[-n]的分调交替现象,就是这种特点的一个表现。
