“中国装甲兵之父”许光达将军,1925年加入中国共产党。为建立新中国他出生入死,南征北战, 1955年被授予大将军衔。当时,他与别的将军比感到心中有愧,便郑重地致信中共中央军委申请降衔, 军委未准后,他又十分诚恳地请求把薪金降低了一级。
General Xu Guangda, the father of Chinese armored forces, joined the Chinese Communist Party in 1925. In order to establish a new China, he was born and goes to death in a bid to fight for the north and south, and in 1955 he was awarded the rank of general. At that time, he and his other general felt guilty conscience than earnestly sent a letter to the Central Military Commission of the CPC to apply for downgrading. The Military Commission was not allowed to make a decision. He also sincerely requested that the salary be reduced by one level.
