The solid-state device handler, supplied by Sturge Automation in the United Kingdom, improved the operation of three lime kilns with a capacity of 120 tonnes. This processor provides better control of the lime sintering time, more uniform product quality, and lower furnace pollution to the environment. Three 120-foot-tall oil-fired kilns are operated continuously. Banded limestone is added to the top to add crushed limestone to fill the kiln. The quality of the lime product depends on the control of the sintering time when the limestone passes through the heating zone of the sintering furnace.
