“先生”一词有着悠久的历史,其指称意义随社会发展不断演变,一些用法的性别指向也在变化,近来在当今社会能否再用“先生”来指称女性表示对其的尊敬在社会中引起了广泛热议。本文试从“先生”性别指向模糊的应用范畴及其模糊的历史演变等方面进行解读。认为从历史根源来说不可否认的是用“先生”指称女性是对女性的尊敬,但从社会应用角度、语言发展角度和历史文化角度考虑认为在当今社会表示对女性的尊敬称其为“先生”需谨慎。
The term “sir” has a long history. Its alleged meanings evolve with the development of the society. The gender orientation of some usage is also changing. Recently, “sir” can be reused in today’s society to refer to women for their Respect in the community has aroused widespread heat.
