In translation activities, we will inevitably encounter some contradictions. Among them, translatability and untranslatability are the questions which the scholars in the translation field keep thinking about. Humans have a long history of translation, and people in different languages have the need of communication and exchange. Human translation has been going on all along. At the level of time, no one can deny that translation is possible, that is, “translatability” is real. However, the theoretical research in recent decades, through analysis, certification always leads to “untranslatable ” conclusion. This article mainly discusses the translatability’s translatability and untranslatability’s viewpoint, and briefly describes the author’s opinion.
