话剧小品在中国当今话剧舞台上刮起了一阵强劲的旋风,大有八方鼓荡、方兴未艾之势。这种话剧小品“极盛”的艺术现象,在建国40多年来大概还是第一次。不管人们怎样认识它,作为一种艺术现象它是客观存在的,而且仍在向前发展。这种现实使我们有理由感到鼓舞。近年来,各种大、中型有影响的演出活动几乎没有中断过。具有全国规模的小品演出活动就有过两次,即1987年中央电视台举办的“全国戏剧小品电视比赛”,参赛的有全国140多个专业团体的330多个剧目;再一个是1989年在天津举办的“南开杯”全国业余话剧小品邀请赛,参赛的125个剧目是从全国24
