这次论坛主要关心的是文化研究与马克思主义结合的可能性,这样一个问题的提出自然和我们对文化研究现有知识框架的不满有关。我们希望抛掉一些陈旧的思想格局,重新调动和组合新旧各方面的要素,以便更好地面对我们自己的文化和政治实践。孟登迎老师最近一些文章对国内文化研究发展历史的梳理、对美国式文化研究的批评以及对英国伯明翰传统的重新调用显然有这样的用心。~([1])我在本文会指出孟老师重返伯明翰的呼吁有一些方法论的困难,但我思考的出发点
The main concern of this forum is the possibility of combining cultural studies with Marxism. The proposition of such a question naturally relates to our dissatisfaction with the existing knowledge framework of cultural studies. We hope to throw away some of the old ideological patterns and redefine and combine the elements of old and new to better face our own cultural and political practices.
