蜀苧一号原名W—4,是四川省达县地区农科所1981年以大红皮自交后代中,经过10多年的选择、培育而成的苧麻优质高产新品种。是我省继红皮小麻之后又一优质麻种。1992年通过四川省品种审定委员会审定。一、特征特性蜀苧一号属中根散生型中熟品种,根系发达,植株高大,发蔸快,分株力强.上林率高,长势旺盛,生长整齐。一般株高160—180厘米,茎粗1.0厘米,有效林率70—80％,鲜皮出麻率11％,幼芽出土红色,叶绿色近圆型。原麻白绿色,锈脚短.斑疵少。高抗花叶病、抗风抗旱能力强。一般亩产125公斤以上,高的达150公斤,年收三季,全年工艺成熟期190天左右。该品种打剥性、丰产性好、适应性广。在平坝、丘陵山区均可种植。
