本研究以英国剑桥中文学校为个案,观察对外汉语教师在课堂上的中一英文语码转换,访谈华侨中国学生,旨在探讨教师课堂语码转换的形式、功能以及学生对此的看法和态度,以期充实和发展关于外语课堂中的语言选用、语言态度特别是语码转换研究。本研究的内容包括对外语教师课堂语码转换的分类,学生对每一类语码转换的认识、态度和看法,以及学生看法与教师看法的比较和分析。研究结果显示:(1)剑桥中文学校对外汉语课堂语码转换主要包括12种类型;(2)学生表示没有察觉到课堂上多数语码转换的发生;(3)学生对教师转换语码原因的猜测与教师自我陈述比较一致;(4)学生整体上对语码转换持积极态度。本研究为了解外语教学特别是对外汉语教学中,学生对教师的语码选择,提供了真实、深入而微观的视角。
In this study, a case study of Cambridge Chinese School in the UK was conducted to observe the Chinese-English transliteration of Chinese as a foreign language teacher in the classroom. Interviews with Chinese students in overseas Chinese were conducted to discuss the form and function of code-switching in teachers ’classrooms and the students’ opinions and attitudes , With a view to enrich and develop the linguistic choices, linguistic attitudes and especially code-switching studies in foreign language classrooms. This research includes the classification of the transliteration of the foreign language teachers ’class codes, the students’ understanding, attitudes and opinions about each type of transcoding, and the comparison and analysis of the students ’views and the teachers’ opinions. The results of the study show that: (1) the Chinese-English EFL classes in Cambridge Chinese School mainly include 12 types of transliteration; (2) the students said they did not detect the majority of transliterations in the classroom; (3) Guess more consistent with the teacher’s self-statement; (4) Students as a whole on the code-switching positive attitude. This study provides a true, in-depth and micro-perspective to understand the language choice of teachers in foreign language teaching, especially in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
