中国姓名是中国文化所寄予的一种传承方式。在翻译趋于文化转向和“权力关系”转向的背景下,中国姓名的英译也受到“权力关系”效应的影响。以当前网络热烈讨论的“赵C”与“中国女排运动服上的姓名英译”两则事例为启示,从权力关系理论基础上探讨了中国姓名英译规范的必要性,揭示了中国姓名英译在建立与西方对话的可能性的基础上应保留本民族特色及其文化态度。
The Chinese name is a form of inheritance sent by Chinese culture. In the context of the shift of translation towards cultural shift and the shift of “power relations,” the English translation of Chinese names is also affected by the “power relations” effect. Based on the enlightenment of “Zhao C” and “English translation of names on Chinese volleyball dress” published by the current internet, this paper explores the necessity of the norms of English translation of Chinese names based on the theory of power relations, On the basis of establishing the possibility of dialogue with the West, English translation of Chinese names should preserve its own national characteristics and cultural attitudes.
