日俄战争改变了东亚国际关系的格局,对日美关系的发展产生了深远的影响。两国在联合抗俄的基础上建立的合作关系迅速终结,日本开始排斥美国在满洲的权益,美国也开始遏制日本的对外扩张。两国关系逐步从日俄战前的合作关系发展到战后的对抗关系。在东亚日美矛盾开始取代日俄矛盾成为帝国主义最主要的矛盾。
The Russo-Japanese War changed the pattern of international relations in East Asia and had a profound impact on the development of Japan-US relations. The cooperation set up by the two countries on the basis of joint anti-Russia has come to an end rapidly. Japan has begun to exclude the U.S. rights in Manchuria. The United States has also started to contain Japan’s external expansion. The relations between the two countries gradually developed from the pre-war relations of cooperation between Japan and Russia to the confrontational relations after the war. The contradiction between Japan and the United States in East Asia began to replace the contradiction between Japan and Russia as the most important contradiction of imperialism.
