成人高校是我国高校的一种形式,在我国继续教育中担负着重要的作用。与其他高校一样,成人高校的科学管理目标在于提高办学水平,增强教育效益。而这一目标的实现离不开成人高校主体力量——教师的努力,离不开他们积极性和创造性的发挥。因为成人高校教师在教学过程中是影响学生、影响教学过程诸因素中最积极的因素。是制约其他因素的主要因素。通过教师的作用,调整教材教学方法和教学环境,并把不适合的因素改变为合乎学生需要的因素。而且还创造性地把成人心理发展的特点与教学特点或规律结合起来,促进学生智力的发展,提高学生掌握科学知识和技能的质量,培养德、智、体全面发展符合成人高校规格的人才。由于成人高校教师是从事精神生产的脑力劳动者,因此,我们有必要认真研究成人高校教师行为的积极性问题。怎样才能调动成人高校教师的积极性呢?现代管理心理学把调动个体行为积极性——即激励行为是管理活动中的核心问题,为此,只要我们从成人高校教育管理工作的实际出发,合理的运用激励理论,是可以在很大程度上调动高校教师的行为积极性的。
