从系统论、控制论、信息论的角度来探讨文化的整体现象。任何文化特质都构成一文化系统,相近或相似文化特质的有机组合构成文化模式;文化的生存必须具备系统内部结构的和谐和系统与外部环境的适应两个条件,适应要求系统与环境不断进行物质、能量和信息的交流;由于文化系统的结构方式不同,系统与环境关系的强弱,文化系统呈现无序系统、封闭系统和开放系统三种状态。中国文化原则上是一种封闭的文化系统,其现代化必然是从封闭走向开放。
