根据某些作者的研究,我国境内的地壳承受着来自印度板块和太平洋板块的挤压。因之我国大范围地壳内存在着强大的水平应力场。但另一方面地壳下方上地幔中物质的重力分异和热膨胀等也给上覆地壳施加垂直向的力。这两种力在地壳中的相互作用,共同决定着我国地壳内的地震活动性。本文拟从这个观点讨论大地震的孕育和发生以及某些地震预报问题。但所述的很多论点尚属初步探讨,极不成熟,希望引起学术争论。
According to some authors’ studies, the crust in our country is subject to compression from the Indian and Pacific plates. Because of the existence of a large horizontal crust in our country a strong horizontal stress field. On the other hand, gravitational differentiation and thermal expansion of materials in the upper mantle under the crust also exert a vertical force on the overlying crust. The interaction of these two forces in the earth’s crust jointly determines the seismicity in China’s crust. This article intends to discuss from this point the occurrence and occurrence of major earthquakes and some earthquake prediction issues. However, many of the arguments discussed are still preliminary and immature, hoping to spark academic controversy.
