塑料在家庭及汽车上的应用已十分普遍,如今建桥业也正在试图利用塑料来建造大桥。美国加利福尼亚大学工业学术协会正制定一个为期三年的研究计划,其目标是推出世界上首座塑料公路大桥。计划该桥全长约137米,材料完全为玻璃纤维、碳纤维及聚合纤维加强的复合材料。初期设计需要建造约18米宽。完全由缆索锚定的 A 字型结构支撑的桥面,整个结构都是由非金属材料制成。预计整个工程于1996年开工,将需要一年即可通车。翟大明/图
The use of plastic in homes and cars is already widespread and the bridge construction industry is also trying to build bridges using plastic. The University of California Industrial Academic Society is developing a three-year research project with the goal of launching the world’s first plastic highway bridge. The bridge is planned to be about 137 meters in length and is made entirely of glass fiber, carbon fiber and polymer fiber reinforced composite material. The initial design needs to be about 18 meters wide. The A-shaped structure supports the bridge deck completely anchored by cables. The entire structure is made of non-metallic material.
