公共陆地移动网络(PLMN,Public Land Mobile Network)选择是评价终端质量的重要指标。主要介绍PLMN的分类和选择方式,包括自动PLMN选择和手动PLMN选择,阐述了这2种PLMN的选择方式的规则和特点,并介绍了自动PLMN选择流程图。详述了多模系统目前常用的2种PLMN选择和重选的规则,分析了这2种选择方式的优缺点,并提出了根据PLMN列表分类的PLMN选网方式。在TD-SCDMA/GSM双模终端中的使用表明,这种选网方式可以缩短终端驻留高优先级PLMN的时间,减少漫游的概率。
Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) selection is an important indicator of terminal quality. This paper introduces the classification and selection methods of PLMN, including automatic PLMN selection and manual PLMN selection. The rules and characteristics of these two kinds of PLMN selection methods are expounded. The automatic PLMN selection flow chart is also introduced. The rules of PLMN selection and reselection, which are commonly used in multimode system, are described in detail. The advantages and disadvantages of these two kinds of selection schemes are analyzed. A PLMN selection method based on PLMN list is proposed. The use in the TD-SCDMA / GSM dual-mode terminal shows that this network selection mode can shorten the time for the terminal to camp on the high-priority PLMN and reduce the probability of roaming.
