前几年,有一位老书家卫俊秀,他过世后他的弟子们将其列为二十世纪四大草书家之一(另外三人为于右任、王遽常、林散之),并且做了许多推介工作,将卫先生推在前沿,让书坛广泛认知其人其书。卫先生够不够四家之一当然是个学术问题,可以进行讨论,但是有意思的是书坛中人谈草书,会想到于右任、王遽常、林散之三人,征引卫俊秀的却几乎没有。可以想见,人们内心的尺度,是与体验的深浅有关系的,认为是大家的有人在,以为水准一般的也有人在,他们的差异无法调和。
