百脉根又名鸟足豆、五叶草、牛角花,为豆科百脉根属多年生草本植物。根系发达,可固氮,寿命长,自行繁殖能力强,叶量丰富。百脉根对土壤要求不严,适宜在p H值6.2~6.5的土壤生长。百脉根耐热性强,抗旱性能好,最适生长温度为l8℃~25℃,开花要求2l℃~27℃,再生能力强,新疆地区可以刈割3茬草。栽培要深翻土壤,精细粑耱,清除杂物。春季气温稳定在5℃以上时播种,新疆地区播种时间约3月下旬至4月上
