The world scientific community noted with sorrow that Dr. Vitomir Markovic died in Budapest on 13 March 1997. Dr Markovic, who has been a senior staff member of the IAEA Research and Isotopes Division since 1984, is a respected research chemist and project leader whose work will have lasting effects in many countries around the world. As a frequent contributor to the IAEA Bulletin and other magazines and scientific journals, Dr. Markovic is an expert in industrial applications of radiochemistry and radiation technology and has written more than 50 papers and articles.
