地球物理学家都认为,研究地质剖面时,多波问题是迫切需要解决的。同时在许多油田用非纵波进行的大量研究表明可以获得地质构造的新信息。采用反射纵波PP和反射横波SS时间剖面对比法在发现气田方面效果最好。但在剖面上部(地表)为水饱和区时,例如,在西西伯利亚的沼泽地区,记录不到来自深部地层的SS波。SS波的广泛应用还受到下列因素的制约:
Geophysicists agree that when studying geological sections, the issue of multi-wave is an urgent need to be solved. At the same time, a large number of studies using non-compressional waves in many oil fields show that new information on geological structure can be obtained. The comparison of time profile of reflection longitudinal wave PP and reflected transverse wave SS shows the best effect in gas field discovery. However, when the upper part of the section (surface) is saturated with water, for example, in the marsh area of West Siberia, no SS wave is recorded from the deep formation. The widespread use of SS waves is also governed by the following factors:
