我们学习西方的音乐,不仅仅为了获得诠释西方音乐的方法和技能,还要深入理解与它紧密相关的文化。许多年来,大家一拿到陌生的音乐作品总是匆忙地进行分析和演奏,却很少对乐谱之外的事情加以关注。我们仅仅满足于对作曲家和时代风格的粗略了解。然而这种简单的认识对于准确把握一部音乐作品是远远不够的。学习艺术的人需要认识历史、懂得文化的价值。音乐中展现出的一切人类的智慧和才能都要求我们把它作为一种文化成果来看待。
We learn Western music, not only to acquire the methods and skills to interpret Western music, but also to understand the culture closely associated with it. For many years, when you get unfamiliar musical compositions that are always analyzed and played in a hurry, you seldom pay attention to anything other than music. We are content with a rough understanding of the composer and the style of the times. However, this simple understanding is not enough for accurately grasping a musical piece. People who study art need to know history and know the value of culture. All the human wisdom and talent shown in the music requires us to treat it as a cultural achievement.
