In recent years, the development of Hong Kong films seems to have encountered many bottlenecks. The Mainland market has provided Hong Kong filmmakers with ample opportunities and room for growth, but there are various signs that Hong Kong films are facing more and more serious challenges. A few days ago, Hong Kong director Johnnie To’s new movie “Deadly Bill” was released in the Mainland. The film cinephilia ratings in the professional fan site is very high, so I chose to go to a theater at noon on Sunday, but found a huge movie hall, only a few people, attendance less than 10%! This is the solemn and rational Film, in the empty auditorium aroused the reverberation, even more solitude and deserted, and the bustling “Mission Impossible 4” in stark contrast. Even if the word of mouth is good, it seems that its box office prospects are still not optimistic. Good film is still true, let alone a lot of mediocrity made.
