Liu Xie is a more important writer on the occasion of the Song and Yuan Dynasties. Liu Xie has endless grief, but he is able to surpass the narrow view of the past and pursue the “vigorous” and the “strong spirit” of his works. As time goes on, his temperament and style of writing also become more stable. This style, the complexity of the mood makes Liu Xie become a model for studying the surviving poetic style and poetic theory.
