During the interview, Professor Soysal said no one in Turkey or other countries now lives a western life. Even in the remote mountainous areas of Turkey, people are watching the same television programs on satellites and traveling to different countries . Therefore, it is outdated to continue to use the concept of binary opposition between East and West to interpret Istanbul. Under globalization, the material enjoyment of everyone is basically the same. In response, my father, Emrah, who did not know anything about Chinese, said he often watches CCTV on television because he can not oppose it when he can buy antenna satellites for a few hundred bucks.
