当国际科学编辑联合会(The InternationalFederation of Science Editors,简称 IFSE)的主席Dr.Miriam Balaban接到中国科学院决定派代表参加国际科学编辑会议的信函时,立即发来传真:国际科学编辑界期待着与中国同行的交流。 1991年10月13日～18日,我有幸参加了在美国麻省伍滋霍尔(Woods Hole)召开的主题为“全球信息交流时代的科学编辑”的国际会议,这是国际科学编辑联合会成立以来的第六届国际会议。通过举办这类学术会议,国际科学编辑联合会为不同国家的科学编辑提供了共聚研讨的机会,促进了国际间科学编辑的交流。
When Dr. Miriam Balaban, chairman of the International Federation of Scientific Editors (IFSE), received a letter from the Chinese Academy of Sciences deciding to send a representative to attend an international scientific editing conference, he immediately sent a fax: The international scientific editorial community is looking forward to Chinese counterparts exchange. From October 13 to October 18, 1991, I was lucky enough to attend the international conference on “The Scientific Editing of the Global Information Exchange Era” held at Woods Hole, Massachusetts, United States, which is the International Federation of Scientific Editors Since the establishment of the Sixth International Conference. By holding such academic conferences, the International Federation of Scientific Editors provides the opportunity for the scientific editors of different countries to hold discussions and facilitate the exchange of international scientific editors.
