京九铁路平湖南编组站工程是铁道部、广东省和深圳市的重点工程,也是大京九铁路最后一个大型配套项目。它占地1997亩,投资6亿多元。建成后,对于完善京九铁路大动脉的配套设施,促进特区经济的发展和迎接香港“九七”回归等,具有重要的政治经济意义。承担主体工程建设的广铁集团工程总公司自1996年2月正式开工以来,以顽强拼搏的精神,争创国优的信心,投入精兵强将,日夜奋战,创造了前所未有的施工奇迹。日前,记者就工程建设的组织实施及进展等情况,采访了平湖南编组站指挥部指挥长彭德威。 据介绍,该编组站主体工程包括路基土石方、桥涵、辅轨、铺岔、驼峰、信号、通讯、电力、给排水等十几个分项,还有编组站、机务所、站修所房建工程8万平米,总体设计为两级四场,全部采用微机自动化控制编解,是一项多功能、多专业、现代化的系统工程。总工期为22个月,(按建设部正常施工定额测算需52个月完成,)而其中仅广铁工程总公司承担的土石方工程量就达770万立方米,超过了该公司的最高年产量。整个工程要求在香港“九七”回归前初步形成规模,1997年底建成,工期紧,难度大。为此,广铁工程总公司组建了平湖南编组站指挥部,由具有丰富实践经验的总公司主管生产的副总经理彭德威担任指挥长,抽调优秀的
