海峡两岸经贸往来自1979年恢复发展以来,已走过了20个春秋,其间尽管艰难曲折,但还是取得了举世瞩目的成绩。日益密切的两岸经贸关系,不仅促进了两岸各自的经济发展,而且对加深两岸经济融合,推进两岸和平统一进程发挥了积极的作用。迈入新世纪,两岸即将加入世界贸易组织(WTO),从经济的角度来看,这一历史性事件无疑是影响新世纪两岸经贸关系发展的最重大因素,它将为两岸经贸关系的加速发展开创新契机。但是,由于现阶段两岸关系的紧张对峙状况并没能缓解,两岸能否充分把握这一历史性机遇还面临着严峻的挑战。
