“Wolf grandmother ” type of folktales in our nation and other parts of the world are widely circulated. This type of story is generally considered to have a strong educational meaning, which is often used as enlightenment fairy tales. However, digging deeper into the perspective of children who are “vulnerable” in the text, this seemingly “naive” story seems to hide a more “cruel” implication. By analyzing taboo and death in the story, this article tries to reveal the symbolic image in some texts and excavate the gender consciousness and family ethics implied in the narrative.
