在党的十一届三中全会以后,我团因地制宜逐步发挥种植西、甜瓜的优势,种植面积由2694亩发展到1985年的13190亩。随着面积的逐渐扩大,产量、产值和利润也逐年提高。1985年销售总产量达30000吨,比1984年增长33.7％,其中,外贸瓜1008吨,关内销售10996吨,新疆内销19960吨,经检查验收质量基本达到要求。总产值380万元,比1984年的261.7万元增长45.2％,西、甜瓜的亩产值达到288元,亩利润106元,比我团种植的其他作物要高得多,西、甜瓜生产已发展成为我团农业的主要经济支柱之一。
