银杏是我国现存的最古老树种之一,有“活化石”之称。因其气魄雄伟,古雅别致,是制作盆景的上乘材料。制做银杏盆景,一般有两条选材途径:一是繁育或购买小苗,从小培育;二是到山野掘取树桩。前者因其增粗缓慢,成型较慢;而后者因其数量有限,又会破坏自然植被,造成水土流失,所以不应提倡。笔者曾于1998年7月中旬,得到一银杏粗壮残枝,长约50厘米,径粗20厘米,并带有一些小枝条。因见其型态尚佳,就将枝条短截,仅留少许枝叶,栽植于填满沙子的素烧盆中,遮阴养护至霜降前后,移入冷
Ginkgo biloba is one of the oldest existing species in our country and is called “Living Fossil”. Because of its bold style, elegant and unique, is the production of superior materials bonsai. Ginkgo bonsai production system, there are generally two ways of selection: First, breeding or buying seedlings, childhood nurturing; the second is to dig the mountain stumps. The former is slow because of its thickening, slow forming; the latter because of its limited number, will destroy the natural vegetation, resulting in soil erosion, it should not be promoted. The author once in mid-July 1998, get a ginkgo stout branch, about 50 cm in diameter 20 cm thick, with some small branches. Because of its good form, the branches will be short cut, leaving only a few branches and leaves, planted in sand filled with burning pot, shading conservation before and after the frost, into the cold
