The Second Congress of the Chinese Physical Society and the 1963 Academic Conference (hereinafter referred to as the Annual Conference) were held in Beijing from August 19 to August 27. There were 209 representatives from all provinces and cities attending the conference. This is an unprecedented gathering of physicists in our country and a grand gathering of academicians.
