在有一些古典气息的城市里,不难看到塔的高耸。倘若是名塔,甚至就成了这座城市的象征。当你不知道城市的方位、渊源时,往往会有这么一个经验,有人提到了里边的一座古塔,于是眼前一亮,这座城市蓦然变得可亲起来。的确有过几次,有人问我的故乡,和他们说是唐宋时帆樯如林的港湾、海上丝绸之路,皆一脸茫然,后来只好把东西二塔搬出来,听者便觉得立体极了、感性极了,还想起李贽、郑成功、李叔同这拨人来。
