为解决涡轮增压发动机增压滞后的难题,保证发动机能在从低速到高速的较宽范围内保持高扭矩,在全部运转工况下都能得到稳定性高的行驶性能,并使油耗也能维持在非增压发动机的水平,开发了带有可调叶片涡轮增压器的C20A型发动机。它能随着运转工况的不同控制可调叶片,改变供给涡轮的排气动能以控制增压压力,使得增压发动机能兼顾低速时的灵敏加速性和高速时的加速特性。
