序幕这是一个在此处不愿意透露名字的电影放映员,在他每日工作的影院里捡到的一本手记。说是手记,其实是份打印稿,前后字体大小也没有统一,看得出多次匆匆改写增删的痕迹。手记文体驳杂,他起初以为是小说,却又发现文中经常只有角色对话,或者只有场景说明。他猜测,这是一个初学电影剧本写作者写下的电影剧本,一部全程兜兜转转在同一个城市里的公路片。他的猜想并非出于职业性的联想,因为读到打印稿的最后,他发现有几行手写的歪歪扭扭的笔迹,添上了一段口气很大的话:

At first he thought it was a novel, but found that there were often only role conversations or only scene descriptions in the text. He speculates that this is a screenplay written by a beginner scriptwriter, a roadtrip that goes all the way around the same city. His conjecture was not out of professional associations, because at the end of reading the print he found several lines of handwritten crooked handwriting with a very high-pitched tone:
