I heard a touching story from my friends when the Shanghai Kunju Opera Company performed in Beijing. Our revolutionary predecessor, Zhuolin, invited Hua Wenyi, Ji Zhenhua, Liang Guyin, Yue Mei Ti, Wang Zhiquan and Cai Zhengren to visit the house. Comrade Zhuoluan praised everyone’s performance well and encouraged them to climb the new peak of art. Parting, Comrade Zhuo Lin handed an envelope Hua Wen Yi, humorously called “kit”, told go before they can be opened. On his way home, the head of the Chinese delegation opened the “kit” in public and saw five ten-yuan bills. This turned out to be the money for theater tickets handed down by Comrade Zhuo Lin. This story reminds me of another story: one day in the fifties, Comrade Zhou Enlai drove to the front door to get off and walked through the downtown of Dashilan to the front door of a small theater where he paid for tickets to see Wei Xikui’s “Yang Naiwu Chinese cabbage. ”
