1936年,因为身体原因,著名作家朱自清先生向清华大学递交了辞呈,目的很明确,立刻辞去担任的校图书馆馆长职务。起先,清华大学相当客气,全力挽留。可是,朱自清先生去意已决,清华大学最后只好批准了。随后,朱自清先生收拾好东西,正要离开,突然看见桌上放着员工工作情况报告,他随手拿起来翻了翻,紧接着,眉头不由地皱了起来。他立即将馆员王伟叫到办公室,请他坐下,然后,非常直率地说:“你来这里工作三个多月了,可是每个月都犯错,登个书名也错了好几回。我觉得,你不能胜任这份工作,明天别来了。”说完就要写辞退信。
