1912年1月1日中华民国临时政府在南京成立,孙中山就任临时大总统。后南北议和,袁世凯被推举为临时大总统,孙中山于4月1日正式卸任,临时政府随之迁往北京。其间,临时大总统府电报房收译了各方电报五百多号,内容涉及南京临时政府时期政策制定以及处理政治、经济、军事、外交等方面事务的情况。
January 1, 1912 The Provisional Government of the Republic of China was established in Nanjing. Sun Yat-sen became provisional president. After the South-North Conference and Yuan Shikai were elected as Provisional President, Sun Yat-sen officially stepped down on April 1, and the interim government subsequently moved to Beijing. In the meantime, the telegraph office of the Provisional Grand Presidential Office translated over 500 telegrams from all sides concerning the formulation of policies in the interim government of Nanjing and the handling of political, economic, military and diplomatic affairs.
