我省红壤在形成过程中,由于高温多雨的气候条件,土壤脱硅富铝、富铁化过程强,矿物解放比较彻底,易溶性的碱金属和碱土金属如钾、钠、钙、镁等盐基离子大量流失,难溶性的铁铝离子残留在土壤中,因而,土壤中铁铝含量相对增高,这是造成酸、瘦、干和缺磷低产的根本原因。为了改良红壤,快速培肥地力,提高作物产量,1977年起,在昆明市龙泉公社中坝大队榆树村生产队中等红壤早地上,施用不同有机肥料,连续进行了两年试验,效果显著。
