江南名城常州有着丰富的历史遗存和深厚的文化底蕴。历经近现代工业的发展,特别是近二十年来的大规模城市建造活动,传统城市格局已发生根本变化。延陵东路一带原是常州老城的东南边缘区域。当京杭运河津渡之冲,又聚集了天宁寺、文笔塔以及舣舟亭等诸多名胜古迹。名胜古迹混杂在缺乏规划的城乡民房街道工厂及民营企业之间,无法体现其历史文化价值。受常州市政府委托,本所进行了常州延陵东路历史文化街区的概念性城市设计工作。
Changzhou, a famous city in the south, is rich in historical relics and profound cultural heritage. After the development of modern industry, especially the large-scale urban construction activities in the recent two decades, the traditional urban pattern has undergone fundamental changes. Yanling East Road was originally the southeastern edge of Changzhou Old City. When the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal ferry, also gathered Tianning Temple, Wenpai Pagoda and many other attractions. Places of historic interest and scenic beauty mixed in the lack of planning between urban and rural residential street factories and private enterprises, can not reflect its historical and cultural value. Entrusted by the Changzhou Municipal Government, the Institute conducted a conceptual urban design of the historic and cultural block of Yanling East Road in Changzhou.
