Eugen Schmallenbach was born in Westphalia, Germany in 1873 and graduated from high school to work as a chain-lock factory run by his father. In 1898, he attended the newly founded Leipzig Business School, where he left school as an assistant to Professor Karl Bikai while studying for a higher degree. After obtaining a degree, Shih Shih taught in Cologne Business School in Germany (changed its name to Cologne University in 1919) and was awarded the title of professor of the university in 1906. Since then, he has been teaching in the school. After Hitler came to power in 1933, he was forced to retire early because his wife was Jewish. Shih Shi engaged in book writing and counseling activities began after retirement. In 1945 he resumed his academic lectures until the last minute of his life.
