The decision to shoot the documentary “Mark’s Hutong School” can be said to be an accident, or an experiment, from my discussion with Mark about the authenticity of the documentary. Mark Thirwall was born in Australia and founded a Chinese culture called “Hutong” in the Jiuduo alley of the old city of Beijing.
