What is VXI Plug and Play? “VXI Plug and Play” is a term used to describe the work of the VXI Plug and Play System Alliance business. Founded in 1993, the Alliance has more than 80 vendors actively working in open industry standards to make VXI hardware and software easier to use. To achieve this goal, the consortium has created a “framework” of VXI software / controller performance available for Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 3.1, HP-UX, and SUN operating systems. Other major contributions include the VISA (Virtual Instrument Software Architecture) I / O Library, VXI Plug and Play instrumentation drivers and interactive operability testing.
