本刊发表史学家何光岳的自述——“从厚铁板的微缝中弓起”。靠“勤奋、毅力、德操”的治学、治史六字箴言,何光岳在汗牛充栋的史学典籍中锲而不舍,笔耕不辍;靠着超乎常人的辛劳和努力,他以其独特的视角和做学问的方式,成就为一位不重复别人也很难被人替代的农民史学家。何光岳是我省岳阳人,1939年11月出生。1979年5月当选为全国青联常委;1985年获全国总工会职工自学成材金牌奖;1986年获得“国家级有突出贡献的专家”称号,1992年起享受国务院政府津贴;1994年5月起任湖南省社会科学院炎黄文化研究所所长、研究员;1998年2月被评为湖南省十大优秀社会科学专家。先后出版《夏源流史》、《商源流史》、《周源流史》、《楚源流史》、《中原古国源流史》、《汉源流史》、《三湘掌故》、《中华姓氏源流史》等37部专著,还主编撰写了《中国帝王大全》、《炎黄文化论文集》等5部著作。至今何光岳写作共达2270万字。
