我们的眼睛生来只看到阳光下的建筑,阳光和阴影揭露了这些造型。——柯布西耶身处空间,从一处到另一处,作为静态的空间转换到了空间的时间。光影进入空间,建筑作为自然变化的时间维度也引入了进来。如此,空间便同时有了两个时间维度。光影之于空间,一直有许多表述方式:既可以通往神秘境界,比如中世纪的花窗玻璃、伊斯兰建筑里的复杂光影,也可以是较近一些的,譬如安藤忠雄的“光之教堂”;而光影纯粹作为装饰,案例更是之多。除以上两者,西方建筑师也都一直非常小心地处理建筑结构所导致的光影表现。
