XMACII仪器可以在压实地层和未压实地层测量地层的纵横波。利用室内数据处理软件可以提取地层的纵波、横波和斯通利波,以此为基础可进行地层各向异性分析、裂缝评价、渗透率估计和地层压力估计等。交叉偶极子声波测井在岩石力学参数计算、地层压裂、出砂、油层污染评价、地层渗透率求取、含气油气层识别等方面具有较为广泛的应用价值,尤其在凝析油气层识别中,交叉偶极子声波测井具有明显的优势。
