明代宫廷工笔花鸟画在继承唐宋院体花鸟画的基础上并有所发展,善于运用装饰性手法和富贵艳丽的色彩,结合民间寓意形式表现传统的儒学文化的花鸟题材,把的贵族审美趣味向典雅平实的平民化趣味转变,开创了明代宫廷绘画新风貌,呈现出具有时代意义的绘画形式与艺术特色,代表了明代宫廷工笔花鸟画的最高水平。
