湘潭市蔬菜畜牧水产局,为解决9月蔬菜淡季,填补7～10月的甘蓝空白,增加市场花色品种,1986年队上海农科院园艺所引进夏光甘蓝试种及推广,三年来,共推广1045亩,增加经济效益32.68万元。在1988年湘潭市秋甘蓝种植面积中,夏光甘蓝占64.86％,深受菜农和居民的欢迎。
