林木良种化是一项促进林木速生、优质、丰产的基本措施,“有了优良品种,即不增加劳动力、肥料,也可获得较多的收成。”从现有林中选择生长突出并具有优良遗传性状的单株——优树,进行无性繁殖,建立种子园是林木良种繁育中最有效的方法之一。优树的质量直接关系到种子园生产种子的品质。为了进一步开展群众性的杉木选优工作,林业专业72级杉木选种毕业实践小组和大田县桃源林场的同志一起,在南平、三明、建瓯、永安、大田对已选出的一部分杉木优树(15—20年生)进行了调查和分析,探讨有关杉木选优方法和标准等问题。
