有缘千里来相会中国妇女出版社出版了一本《拍照,为生命写真》的新书,收进了我的一幅拙作。前不久,在编者、作者相聚时,我认识了书中的影友、著名老作家萧军的爱女、中国作协北京分会的中年女作家萧耘。一个偶然的机会她讲起了父亲当‘和尚’的经过。那是十年前(一九八三年)春寒料峭的一天,父亲应西北大学师生讲学的邀请,我作为料理他老人家的生活陪同陪他来到西安。师生们对他的热情欢迎使人感动,偌大的礼堂座无虚席、连窗户上也爬满了黑压压的人群。接着,他又应《长安》文学杂志社的邀请,参加了小型的与文学爱好者的见面会。谁知小型的竟达千人,为了作到有问必答,条子犹如纷纷扬扬的雪片涌到他的面前。整整战斗了近四个小时,讲实话。古城人的热情,使年过七旬的老人有点招架不住。但为了不使大家失望,他还是答复完了。
