Field trials were conducted in Varanasi in 1978-79 and in the winter of 1979-80 in order to study the absorption effects of radiation dose on wheat yield and N, P, K under dry conditions. The trial consisted of 20 high-yielding wheat cultivars (see table) and 5 radiation doses (0, 3, 6, 9 and 12 krad). The test was conducted according to the design and layout of three replicated split areas, with the main area being the variety and the sub-area being the radiation dose.
